From 08. to 10.03.2017 the international Great Bustard MoU and LIFE Project Meeting took place in Illmitz. The meeting with 42 participants from eight different countries (A, HU, DE, SVK, CZE, ROU, SRB, UK) was a huge success. In the course of the meeting many interesting presentations about the Conservation of the Great Bustard were held, an exciting field trip to the Bustard area Parndorfer Platte - Heideboden and an informative press conference with Landesrätin Astrid Eisenkopf took place. The meeting was additionally a very important step for planing the upcoming MoU-Meeting, which will be held 2018 in Germany. On "Burgenland Heute" an interesting report about the success of the last LIFE Projects "Conservation of the Great Bustard" is released. Landesrätin Eisenkopf, National park manager Kurt Kirchberger, ÖGG Chairman Werner Falb-Meixner, Representative of UNEP/CMS Tilman Schneider and Bustard coordinator Rainer Raab talk about the big success in Conservation of the Great Bustard in the west pannonian area.

Burgenland Heute 10.03.2017

From 8th to 10th of March a meeting with the topic "Cross-border protection of the Great Bustard in Central Europe" takes place in Illmitz, Austria. Many experts from different countries were already invited and several interesting presentations are planned. Dr. Felix Bergmann visits the Project area Parndorfer Platte - Heideboden. While being there, it was talked a lot about the LIFE Project. Besides Dr. Bergmann  Attila Králl and Péter Tóth from MME, Miklós Lóránt from National park Kiskunság, Enrica Seltenhammer from BMLFUW, Rosemarie Parz-Gollner and Werner Falb-Meixner from the ÖGG were there. The field trip was lead by Bustard coordinator Rainer Raab. (Action F.1: Overall Project coordination)

Dr. Felix Bergmann from the Monitoring team of the EU  visits the Technical office for Biology Mag. Dr. Rainer Raab to talk about the current developments of the LIFE Project Great Bustard. Also our hungarian partners Miklós Lóránt Attila Králl und Péter Tóth joined the meeting

On 16th of February 2107 a project meeting was held in Lakitelek. Plans for the new LIFE Project were discussed and talked about. (Action E.2: Project Board Meetings and Information Events)

On 31.01.2017 a meeting with hungarian partners in Kecskemét was held. The former results and future steps of the LIFE Project werde exchanged and discussed. (Action E.2: Project Board Meetings and Information Events)

At the last Bustard Monitoring, Rainer Raab was accompanied by an ORF TV Team to film an interesting short report about the Great Bustards in ihr tri-boarder region. The report can be viewed under the following link.

In December 2012 an extensive chapter about the global situation, as well as many other interesting topics of the Great Bustard is published in the Report "Entwicklung der biologischen Vielfalt in Österreich".

On December 21st 2016 an Article is published about the annual general assembly of the "Goggendorfer" Eco-Association "Grüne Welt". Rainer Raab also gives a statement about the current situation of Great Bustards, as well as  future plans in the LIFE Project.

On December 12th 2016 an interesting Article about the possible threat of the Golden jackal for the Great Bustard is released on the homepage of APA (Austria Presse Agentur). Next to many other experts, Rainer Raab also gives a statement on this new predator.
