Rainer Raab has been working in Great Bustard protection since 1999 under the international Great Bustard species conservation project. He has been in charge of the Marchfeld area since 1999, of Rauchenwarther Platte since 2000, of Western Weinviertel as well as Parndorfer Platte - Heideboden since 2002, and of Waasen - Hanság since 2009. He has also been in charge of coordinating the project as a whole since 2000. From 2005 to 2010 he was working as project assistant and Central European great bustard coordinator within the framework of the LIFE-Project "Cross-border protection of the Great Bustard in Austria". Since October 2010 he has also been working as project assistant and Central European great bustard coordinator within the framework of the LIFE+ Project "Cross-border protection of the Great Bustard in Austria - continuation".

Franz Josef Kovacs is a warden for the Austrian Federal Forests in the Danube Floodplains National Park. His responsibilities are: Species protection, forestry, water systems and drinking water. He is a member of the association for animal and nature photography (www.vtnoe.at) and has produced numerous national and international publications and photo exhibitions. He photographs Great Bustards in Hungary and Austria in close cooperation with area supervisors. He actively participates in publicity work through photo exhibitions and lectures. He won the Schöffel prize for outstanding merits in nature protection. Equipment for Great Bustard photography: Nikkor 4-600 AF-I ED (+TC 14) , Nikon D2x and Sachtler fluid incliner.

Dr. Josef Timar has been a wildlife photographer from an early age. Apart from his work as gynaecologist he published photographs and texts on nature and photography in international journals, books and calendars. His photos can be seen regularly at individual or joint exhibitions in several European countries. He is a member of IFJ (International Federation of Journalists) and several artistic associations. His main interest in photography is the nature of the North and closer to his homeland in central Europe. He is especially interested in endangered bird species such as the Great Bustard.
